Sometimes we need to change our scenery in order to shift our perspective. To begin this letter I took a trip to the River Beach. The River Beach is not actually a beach, its the tiny boat landing made of gravel and mud on my family’s land. But it is the most open place to go sit right by the waters edge, where you can dip your toes and splash your face (we don’t swim here, gator territory), and gaze at the river flowing near eye level. I took with me a beach chair, and sat, watching the river flow for a half hour or so, allowing my mind to downshift to Nature’s pace. It is often much slower and smoother than the rhythm in which most of us live and work from day to day. Attuning to her frequency by going to the beach, walking in the woods, or simply sitting outside watching this River flow is one way I come back to center. And a nervous system reset I needed!
